Speedy Feet is well aware of the economy, the high prices of gas and the
current unemployment problems and is doing our best to make it possible for you
to race. For the first time ever, we are
offering a discount if you sign up for 4 races!
Entry fees for the races are remaining the same despite increased
costs! In an effort to reduce entry
fees, race t-shirts will again be optional, and will be less than in 2009. Entry fees remain $40 per race for a solo
entry, $80 per race for a team or two-person relay entry, $90 for 3 and 4
person relays. Open class entry is $70 –
you are bringing your own boat. Each
race will have an optional, unique cotton-poly blend shirt. Please enter 3 weeks prior to the race if you
want a shirt. Entries after 3 weeks
prior to race date will not be guaranteed a shirt!
Prize money in 2010 will be based on random drawing… so ANYONE CAN WIN, but you must be present at
the drawing at the series championship.
There will be a $500 first prize, a $300 second prize, and a $100 third
prize. For each race you enter, your
name goes into the drawing an additional time.
If you race 1 races, you get one chance; if you race 6 races, you get 6
chances. If you race more than one race,
you could actually win multiple prizes.
Awards will be given to the top three finishers/teams in each division
based on accumulated points. Points are
accumulated with the same partner just as they were last year. In each race, results will be posted to the
Speedy Feet website and ALL finishers will get a finisher’s medal at the
finish. Racers will accumulate points
toward the series standings in each race based on how they place within their
division. The divisions for each race
will be the same:
Male Coed Female
Male Master Coed
Master Female
Master
Male Grandmaster Coed
Grandmaster Female
Grandmaster
Parent/Child Relay
Open
(Racing Boat)
Male Solo (your own boat) Female
Solo (your own boat) Tandem
(2-person bike)
Combined age for “Master” must be 80. Combined age for “Grandmaster”
must be 100. Teams will automatically
assigned Master and Grandmaster based on their age on the entry.
Points are awarded based on the finish place in your division:
The overall fastest team and the overall fastest solo will receive 6
bonus points in addition to the points earned for winning the division. Teams count their best 5 races towards the
standings. To win an award, you must
complete at least 4 races. You do not
have to race in the championship race, but points will be double. Also, you’ll want to be at the championship
in case your name is drawn for one of the random cash prizes. In the event of a tie, head-to-head
competition will be used to determine the final standings. You do not need to be present at the championship
race to collect your award. They will be
mailed if you are not there. After each
race the series points will be updated and posted to the Speedy Feet
website.
Also back for 2010, there will be individual cash awards for the
fastest male and female runner and
biker. $50 to each of the fastest male
biker, female biker, male runner and female runner. You must race in 4 races to be eligible. We’ll take pace for each race and average
them to get your overall average. You
don’t need the same partner either for the fastest runner and biker
awards. $50 also to the fastest male,
female and coed teams in the canoe. For
the canoe you must race at least 4 races with the same partner. Also new this year, $25 for the fastest male
solo and $25 for the fastest female solo in the kayak.
